Child Arangement order, question now son is older...

Hi,

Back when my son was 9, he was removed from my Ex's care by social services due to neglect.  They took her to court and a CAO was made in favour of him residing with me until he was 18. She had a hard time dealing with his autism and was suffering from depression and kind of let things go.....which obviously wasn't good at all for my boy.

He's done amazingly well since he's been with me coping with mainstream school until covid, and now with being home schooled due to anxiety issues.

He'll be 16 next year, and while the CAO states he's with me til he's 18, what do I say to him is he decided he wanted to go back to his mum?  I'll point out I'd have no personal issue with this. She has long since got her act together, gotten remarried and is quite happy, so I'd have no personal worries there.  I'm just wondering about the legal side of things if he did want to?

hi,

the cao orders allow room for parents to make extra agreements about child contact. as long as both parents agree, then there is no need to return to court
