Hi All,
I'm new to this and I would like some advice if possible.
I split up with my ex partner over 6 years ago we have 3 beautiful children. I see my children every other weekend, I have them friday from school through to Monday morning, 2 to 3 weeks in the holidays and 1 week over Christmas. I overpay every month child maintenance.
I recently bought a 3 bed house and moved 50 miles away from the children, I bought the house so that they had stability in their life as I was renting. The issue I have is that my ex partner has enrolled my daughters into dancing and my son onto football on Saturday mornings. The clubs are round the corner from my ex and start at 9/930am. My ex is expecting me to take the children on my weekend so that would mean an early start of getting them up at 630/7am to get them their on time. Plus we wouldn't get back until 12/1pm dependent on traffic. Plus they are at school all week, my oldest daughter doesn't get up until 10am when she stays at mine as she is so tired. Not to mention both girls also dance through the week.
I personally feel that my time with the children is my time, I take them swimming on Saturdays and none of them can swim and they are 9,8 and 6 years of age. Plus if I have an activity planned or want to take them away for the weekend. I now after a heated debate with my ex collect them on Saturday after their clubs. I am thinking of taking things further as I would like to have them from Friday, I cant see the problem if they go every other weekend to their clubs.
Thank you for your advice in advance
Chris
Hi, if your children are attending clubs during the week and not missing out by not attending, personally I don't see what the issue is.
If you and your ex cannot agree on the issues, you might consider attending mediation to resolve them? Other than that, the only other option is to apply to the court for assistance.
good luck
