I'm not sure where else to turn for this - I'm about to become a first time dad in mid/late August and I booked work-holiday for the last week of Aug and paternity leave for the first week of Sept. Giving two weeks off in total - I used the holiday because paternity is so poorly paid.
This was fine until recently where I gave my notice for another job - my employer can be a bit antagonistic over my holiday and now wants to cancel this, whereas I would like to (1) change the paternity start date (bring it forward) and (2) alter the paternity duration from 1 wk to 2.
I'm aware I can do (1) easily enough (assuming I give 28 days notice) but can I alter the duration?
Thanks
