I have been asked to do a 6 month hair strand test by Cafcass. The 1st 3 months should be clear. But I believe the 2nd 3 month period (months 4, 5 & 6) could return a positive result. What view would the court take if I only took a 3 month test that I believe to be negative and said I could not afford the full 6 month test due to current expenses of Barrister, Contact Centres and maintenance payments.
Advice and experiences please ?
Many Thanks
How long is your hair? They reckon that it grows a centimetre a month and takes 2 weeks to break the surface of the scalp.
you may get away with that tactic....if the three months is clear the court should accept that you are not a raging drug user. Alternatively you could do the six months and admit that you did use recreationally but only sociably and haven't for the last three months or so and have no intention of doing so again.
How often did you use cannabis? If f it was only a few times the reading would indicate that.
I would say, be honest. Don't try and fool the court or Cafcass - can just make you look worse.
Bear in mind that body hair grows more slowly - so that can be an option for the courts to request.
