So after going to court again due to my ex breaking a court order she was not really apart of and taking my son 2 hours away every weekend from the agreed location I find myself really confused as to how this world works...

I have my son all week, I do all school runs to and from whilst still working full time and having a set rota which enables me to do this which is 6 days a week. Turning down job promotions and career progression as this was not possible due to my set rota around my son and his school.

My ex lives 2 hours away which she decided to do regardless of were her son lives or what the court order states and cant get up to see him during the week due to her work commitments as she is freelance and could be anywere in the country so she collects from school friday and returns to my home sunday...

I have no quality days with my son and put my whole life on hold to ensure he has one, while my ex is basically off living the dream, doing no schooling and basically having fun on weekends...

I have gone to court to request every other weekend but due to her work rota that she chose remember the judge found fair that she should continue to have my son every weekend...

She is now requesting I share the 2 hour drive.. She will collect friday and then of a sunday I take a 4 hr round trip to pick him back up....

I do everything of a week, all she has to do is pick her son up and drop him off, she made the choice to move and I am scared that by the sounds of what was said in ourt recently the judge can try and enforce this...

Whats wrong with the world that the person bending over backwards always has that little small gap in them to be shafted again...

Can this happen?

It can happen... it’s up to you to push your position and argue for it not to be changed. I know that’s not what you want to hear.

Thanks, I find the whole thing bizarre how someone can chose to move an expect the parent doing all the work to pick up the slack

Hi,

my ex tried to keep every single friday, saying its important for their family lol. that failed. but you say you have your child 6 days a week? i can see why the court would not have problem with your ex having every weekend. what she suggests about sharing thr drive is lazy. court should give her an extra night with the kids to make up for it.

Just to add, the courts could very well order both parents to travel, for child handovers etc. In my case they ordered that I sit in the ex’s family home with the baby, once a week lol. So anything’s possible really. They would try to make things fair and reasonable.
