I need some advice, I own my house, my wife moved in with me when we were married in 2010 we have 4 children 2 of them are under 18 I cheated does this mean I have to leave the house if she demands it or can i be stubborn and just sleep on the sofa, where do i stand legally.
Hi,
if you own, or jointly own the home then your wife can not make you leave the family home by simply telling you to leave...... however there are ways in which she can make you leave and they are not nice, seek a solicitors advice.
You may also wish to visit Relate web page and seek advice there about ways in which to deal with this and open up communication between you both..... hopefully with a view of moving forward keeping in mind the effects this will have on your children.
Who cheated on who makes little difference as far as divorce goes, the court isn't generally interested in this unless it affects the children in some way, which is doubtful.
