Can my Ex apply for legal aid

Hi all,

I am new to attempting the mediation and/or legal process to get to see my child, but, unsure if my ex can apply for legal aid (i.e is it means tested, income bases etc.) which, I would then have to pay significant costs directly, myself (am currently on low income) and which to see if it will be financially crippling/even more in debt.

She obviously has child income support, claims DLA (unsure why, to be honest) and has a good job (not sure how mush she earns as plays that close to the chest)

Thank you all in advance for your helpful replies.

I think if on low income they can claim it but they can also claim it if there are allegations of domestic abuse.

You will find a lot of people self represent on this site, so come here for any advice you might need. Depending on the severity of your case, you probably wont need one, I found them a waste of time and money myself and I have done fine with out them.
