A 2hr hearing certainly indicates that this won't be the final hearing. It might be a good idea to prepare a brief two page position statement to give a little insight into the partners situation, the fact that her condition is stable and well managed, that home life is also stable and can offer the child a safe and secure environment to visit once contact has progressed sufficiently. That she has made previous efforts to be involved in her child's life, but all requests have been thus far ignored. That she is happy to comply with any decisions the court may make in relation to contact and that she only has the child's well being at heart and will do whatever is asked of her to re establish a relationship with her child.... that kind of thing.
