My partner has received notification that a cafcass safeguarding letter will be produced ahead of some upcoming proceedings. The issue I have is 6 months ago there was a misunderstanding and there was an allegation of domestic abuse from a third party. Because of this allegation social services called my partner to check in. They had no concerns and after a brief phonecall said they were happy to report no concerns for them and closed the case.
will this come up in the safeguarding letter? I’ve no idea what to expect
Hi,
Cafcass check police records and see if any issues with local social services. So past incidents might be brought up. Safeguarding letter will be discussed at 1st court hearing and will help courts decide on next steps.
@bill337 thanks, will they check new partners records?
@dad2023 Usually they check partner records if court ask them to do detailed report, like section 7 and if they have safeguarding concerns about partners
