I have recently spoken with cafcass as I was told at the hearing my children were to be Appointed a Guardian having just spoken to the Guardian who has just got the case they said they are now appointing a Solicitor for the children , and I will hear in due course
I have no idea if this is a 'real' solicitor or anything been trying to google and look on cafcass site but can not find any information
anyone experienced this ?
my childrens wishes are to live with me, they have expressed to SS about being hurt by their mother and also ignored and not feeling loved etc the children were asked to draw a dream house and only put me my daughter and our family dog in it spoke about my wife but they both didn't put their mother in the dream house they did them separate
my childrens wishes and feelings were discarded by SS hence why the judge has asked for a guardian but now talk of a Solicitor im starting to panic
Actually I found this :
In some circumstances the court may order that the child is made a party to the proceedings. A Children's Guardian (who again is an officer of Cafcass) is appointed to represent the child in the proceedings and the Guardian will appoint a solicitor. If the child and Guardian do not agree on what recommendations to make to the court and the child is of sufficient age and understanding, they will be able to instruct a solicitor directly to represent their views and the Guardian will present their own views to the court.
but it's still not making sense .........
Try not to panic Eric...it's procedure to appoint a solicitor once a guardian has been appointed. Hopefully it will give your children their voice in these proceedings....I have no experience of how it might pan out but if you are open and honest and continue to put the children at the centre of all discussions then it should be ok.
