Hello, Can anyone recommend a cheaper solicitor in the Birmingham area that can help me with a second hearing mid June 2019. I have self rep so far but managed to save up for some help. The hearing concerns contact to my son that has been stopped for 6 months now without good reason.
Hi there
Unfortunately I cant recommend any cheaper solicitors in your area... you should search for solicitors that offer a fixed fee and a free first consultation, at least that way there won’t be any nasty surprises... solicitors fees can mount up really quickly.
Here’s a link to the Citizens Advice Bureau website with info about finding help more cheaply, your own local CAB might be able to help too.

Best of luck
you could also consider using a McKenzies Friend - that will be cheaper than a solicitor - they can't speak for you in court, but they can help you prepare thoroughly. If you do use one, make sure you find one through recommendation as they aren't regulated.
solicitors are too expensive. use direct access barristers
search here for one: https://www.directaccessportal.co.uk/search/1/barrister
i am using one from there for my hearings. cheapest i found was one for £750 for a hearing. you may be able to get better quotes.
