I have an 8 month baby boy, but he was born in the Philippines (his mother is filipina), his mother is now saying I cannot see him, even online.
She has nowhere to live and cannot take care of him properly.
Is there anything I can do to get access to him? I have offered we take turns of 6 months each, but she will not allow me to bring him to England as she says she doesnt trust I will take him back.
I offered to agree to anything she could suggest and suggested a legal document stating I will take him back within an agreed time.
She answered with a straight 'no'.
We are not married, but my name is on the birth certificate.

Any advice would be greatful.

Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan

Unless anyone else on here knows otherwise, I would say that you are bound by filipino law, so you are going to need to get advice from someone out there - I can't see it's something that the CCLC would have any knowledge of.

Hi Alan and welcome 🙂

Are you in the Philippines or England at the moment and whereabouts is the mother based? I have a few friends from that country and I could ask them what the legalities are in the Philippines. They work in the NHS and I met them when I worked in the local hospital. I have been to the Philippines twice and I absolutely love the country and the people.

Hi,
Im in England and she is in Philippines.
Also, she is going to send my son to live with her parents, so she will not even be with him herself, and her father was arrested last year for being drunk and waving his sword around. There were 5 young girls there one being her 5 year old daughter at the time.

Any help, direction or advice your friends could provide will be appreciated.

Thanks
Alan

...sending the children to stay with the grandparents is quite normal in the Philippines. Whereabouts is she?

I'll try and make contact with my friends in the next few days, so keep checking back 🙂

What happened @Alan,

Did you get your baby back, as you really tried enough to get her back. It must have been a tough time for you , but i really want to know what finally happened thereafter, what mother replied. Why didn't she agree to come to you with your child.
