We applied to court with contact order and prohibited steps order. Got a date of 19 August. However ex applied to court without our knowledge to bring the date forward. She succeeded in changing this to the 2nd August. We tried to change the date back but failed s it stands at 2nd August even though I proved I was on holiday and also my main solicitor is on holiday !

I'm currently on holiday and we can send another solicitor on the 2 august BUT should I come home earlier ? Really annoyed as it was us that applied to court in the first place and now worried about it looking bad if I not there although this was explained to them when we tried and failed to change the date back to the 19 August,

That's just plain wrong!

I really don't know what would be best! My gut feeling would be to attend if at all possible, but it is only the first hearing and if you were to send a solicitor to defend your position....the fact you are the respondent and had been given a date that was workable for you because of prior arrangements etc. what does your solicitor say?
