Good evening Nanny Jane and Gentlemen lol,

I was just wondering if anyone has used or are using a McKenzie friend during the court process and I was looking to see what your thought are about them how much they cost and if you could recommend someone.

Many thanks

Slim πŸ™‚

Hey mate,

I have used a Mckenzie friend for my second directions hearing back in march - mainly to help me with the paperwork, and also to accompany on the day - it's nice to have someone there to take notes and to guide you or remind you about things. That chap has moved away now though so I can't use him anymore.

So yeah, I found another Mckenzie friend through FNF, and she has helped me with various things since then, and currently with my court bundle and associated paperwork.

If you want, I can give you her details, so you can get in contact and introduce yourself.

PM me if you are interested.

Simon.

Excellent simon thats exactly what I was after some one to be there with me on the day as it's a lot to take in all on your own, I've already been approached by someone on the fnf site but wanted to have a good ask about for recommendations and prices so I don't get stung, NJ's on the case for me too, I'll drop you a message pal thanks for the reply πŸ™‚

Hi guys, my partner has used 3 different MF's (due to availability for court hearings). They do seem to vary in quality and prices. I would happily recommend 2 of the ones we have used. Just be careful as MF's are not regulated......

Thanks I've learned that myself! Most are just as bad as solicitors preying on confused Dads they're nearly the same price as a solicitor most of then, I'm steering well clear and carrying on the fight by myself πŸ™‚

I hear what you are saying. My partner and I have tried to do all that we can and just use the MF to edit final paperwork and to attend the hearings for extra support and advice. The best one we have used has been doing it for 12 years now, he's very well qualified and extremely reasonable too so there are some decent ones. End of the day, nobody knows your case as well as you do though.

Yeah I'm quite enjoying it standing up there fighting for my Girls I think another person involved in the mix will just confuse things and drag the case out for longer, My ex isn't represented and she's really playing the hard done too withering flower card so If I get someone else in the courts will look at it as I am ganging up on her, I've met several peeps with MF's and their case seems to be dragging on for ever and they don't seem to be more moved on than I am. I think you can get away with a lot more self representing I've learned loads from my first hearing and will be Mr Pro at the next one.

I'm going to slow things down and make sure I take plenty of notes next time I'm taking my emotions out of it this time and I'm going to act like a solicitor whilst being well more prepared, I find this site invaluable the help and advice is brilliant it's like having a MF with you anyway I've tried other sites and they 're just after your money.

Deep down I think I'm fighting a lost cause as everything is so weighted in my ex's favour you don't really stand a chance if you're the father but I'm keeping absolutely everything for my Daughter and her Sister to read when they are older so they know I've done absolutely everything in my power to be part of their lives πŸ™‚

Excellent slim - however it goes, in the long run, your girls will know you did everything you could possibly to, and equally important, so will you πŸ™‚
