Hello

In the spirit of helping each other through experience I would be interested to hear from any one who has gone to court as the non resident parent asking for more contact than alternate weekends.

Any info at all, what days you asked for, how you spaced them so CAFCAS and court happy, what questions were asked, what did the mother put as the objections and how was this viewed by the court. etc etc.

thanks

Hi - in 2008 I was offered alternate weekends but was given 3 1/2 days per week! I self-represent - so not an expert.
My experience though, is that if the children want more contact, and you want more contact, it is worth going for more contact. Is there already an order in place? Or will you apply to vary an existing order?

Two weekends a month is a pretty minimal amount of time to be granted, and my sense is certainly that cafcass are likely to endorse a request to spend more time with kids.

I had a million objections from mother, but the only ones that are taken seriously are concerning the safety and welfare of the children.

Sounds to me like you have a pretty strong starting point.
