Have been given a date for court, section7 reports to be done first.
Problem is, the date is 2 days or so before anniversary of a bereavement in my ex's family. (A parent).
I'm thinking asking court if they can change this date, based upon the above. (I guess the court may view it as taking her feelings into things).
Is it possible to change a date?
Hi there
Personally I wouldn't make this request, I doubt the court would make anything of this and if you did postpone it you could be looking at a long delay.
If the date is a problem for your ex then she can write to the court and ask for it to be postponed, stating her reasons.
You could write to her and tell her that you have noted the date and realise this might be an emotional time for her and if she wishes to contact the court and try and get it moved to a different date you will not oppose it. Keep a copy of the letter for your records, it can be used to show you as a reasonable person if required.
Ah, good idea. I never thought of that. Thank you.
