advice needed - ex refuses to reveal sons location and to let me see him

I have been separated from my wife for about 4 months now and she had moved to a new address with my 6 year old son to an unknown location as she is refusing to tell me. I patiently waited for 3 months hoping she would change her mind but unfortunately she hasnt, since we separated I have only seen my son for a 30min visit at her parents house (in which they also do not know her location).

I've only been asking to have my son withe every weekend in which she is also refusing (siting that she only feels comfortable if I see him once a month for a short visit).

I require urgent legal advice to know what are my next steps, particularly that my son is being kept away from me at an unknown location.

Thank you in advance

hi,

I would suggest to avoid any further contact with her for now, otherwise she could accuse you of harassment and get a restraining order placed on you. as you don't know where she lives with child, you have valid reason to skip mediation and can make application to court for child arrangement order. it costs £232. if your on low income/benefits you may be able to apply free of charge by using a help with fees form.

You nor her are legally obliged to share your address. If you want contact with your child, apply for a child arrangement order and request handovers via school.
