Hi everyone
I am currently going through a long legal case applying for both Parental Responsibility and a Child Arrangement Order (so I can once again have a relationship with my daughter)
Once the judge has made orders for both, does anyone know if I can add my name to my daughters birth certificate on production of the PR order?
The registry office looked into it and said I should be able to. The form appears to say that I can but is slightly contradictory.
Does anyone know the definitive answer please?
Thanks
hi - this should help https://www.gov.uk/adding-fathers-name-birth-certificate
The problem is that PR (Parental Responsibility Order) does not by itself grant you the right to add the your name to the Birth Cert.
My advise would be to try the following.
1.
Get hold of a DNA certificate (Since the mum is not disputing parentage this may not be necessary).
2.
Apply to the courts for a Declaration of Parentage.

www.jordanpublishing.co.uk/system/redact...cuments/1345/C63.pdf
3.
Use the declaration obtained to apply to the 'General Register Office' for the birth cert to be change to reflect that you are the dad, as per court order above.

www.gov.uk/register-birth/who-can-register-a-birth
Just for the record..
I got a DNA test which proved I was the father, however the judge denied my contact or Parental Responsibility so I never got my name on her certificate!
I have never been in trouble with the police, no enemies, always had very good jobs and and educated so draw your own conclusion
