Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

[Solved] When do I have to pay my legal costs.

Hi all,
I am going through a divorce and money is tight, I have hired a fixed price solicitor and will have to pay the court costs as well. I have only just returned the petition so it is in the early stages. What I am concerned about is when I have to pay the bill? I am not entitled to legal aid but not a high earner and with all that is going on money is tight.
The proceedings may take a few months so that gives me a bit of time, then what?
Will I be able to pay off the court costs in instalments or does it have to be paid within a given time?

You need to speak to your solicitor about payments - it's up to them (well in your agreement with them) as to when you pay that bill, but any outgoings that they pay may need to be paid as they are incurred - it all depends on the solicitor really.
