[Solved] Self Assessment when separated

Hi,

I have separated from my wife a year ago and she claims all the child benefit for our 10 year old as he lives with her. I used to have to pay it all back as I earn in excess of 50K in wages.

Now we are separated, do I still have to pay it all back? I currently live by myself

Thanks

you may be able to stop if you get a legal separation - worth speaking to HMRC on this, and try this: www.gov.uk/legal-separation
