Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

[Solved] paternity pay

Hi there,

normally, I was going to get may paternity leave and pay from my former employer,
but then I happened to leave my old employer for a new one, and all that happened before my wife gave birth.
When my wife gave birth, that time, I was with my new employer for only couple of weeks.
Obviously, I didn`t get paid the paternity pay by my former employer,
either way, I got told by my new employer, that they can`t pay it to me, because of me being with them only for short period of time, but they still recommended me to claim the paternity pay from the government.
I`ve tried to have a look online, but haven`t manage to find out anything about it so far.
To summarize it all for you; I`m after to find out, how and where can I claim my paternity pay.
Would you be able to help me with this one please?

Hi There,

I'm not sure if you will be able to claim anything, you employer isn't liable to pay until you have worked there for 26 weeks.

from a quick look there doesn't seem to be any payments made by the government, the only suggestion is to take holiday instead if possible.
