hi all
my ex wife tho still married on paper is moving abroad with new man but my 6 year old daughter is staying with me full time ......i work long hours and earn around 39k per annum what if any benifits am i entitled to claim for to help with child care ??

You will be entitled to child benefit, and you may be entitled to some child tax credit. However, with your income, I suspect that the child tax credit may be quite small, so another option would be to look at the Childcare voucher scheme - this is something your employer can offer as a salary sacrifice, so you give up, say £3000 per year in salary and they give you £3000 of vouchers to use towards an approved childcare scheme (after school clubs, holiday clubs etc). The advantage is that by giving up the salary, you are not paying tax or NI on this money, so this is the saving you make on the scheme, and there is also a saving on NI for your employer.

Which country is you ex moving to, and have you come to any arrangement with regards to her paying any maintenance (assuming she's going to be working)?

her paying maintenance??? ha ha ha ha no hope always been one way traffic there ... il look into voucher scheme thanks havnt heard of that one tho family and friends helping alot so not sure if il even spend £3000?... as for tax credit every little helps !
