My daughter is 18 19 this year she study's 3 days a week and work 4 days a week earning around 200 a week her mum still says I need to pay is this correct
Hi There,
.
It would depend on where she is studying, if she is at college then yes you would, CSA or CMS go hand in hand with child benifits but if she is in UNI then you wouldn't, if your ex is still recieving child benifit then you would still need to pay.
.
If you are in any doubt then call CSA or CMS and check, if you aren't using either and have a private arrangement, then it is down to you and your ex to decide when you stop paying.
.
GTTS
...I'm not so sure, but only because she works 4 days a week which is paid. Here's a link to guidelines about reporting changes to the Child Benefit Office, it states that working over 24 hours a week is a change that needs reporting.
https://www.gov.uk/report-changes-child-benefit
As GTTS has advised, if you are paying through a statutory arrangement with the CSA give them a call, you could also call the Child Benefit people and check the rules around receiving child benefit, as child benefit is linked to maintenance, if she is no longer eligible for that it might cancel it out.
