[Solved] CSA and Child Tax Credit

I have 3 children, 1 by M the other 2 by G . I do not get to see the 1 by M as again for the 4th time she has stopped access. The other 2 by G l see everyday.

I was hoping to get back together with G, she is living on benefit as is M (who has 4 children by 3 seperate dads) I pay M through the csa and G on a private basis but through the csa, as otherwise M would be getting 15% but as l have 3 children she only gets around 8%.

As l am on a very low wage if G and l got back together we would have to also rely on Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credits to survive. But l have just found out the Child Tax Credits are taken into account with the CSA. I can understand Working Tax Credits being taken into account, But CTC should not be as they are meant for my other children. So therefore M who also gets all her benefits, Lone Parent, CTC, housing benefit etc would also get 15% of my other chidlren's CTC if G and I got back together. G says no way is M getting any of her children's CTC, and l do not blame her.

Surely this is wrong as M is getting more money than l am, not paying tax etc and is living quite comfortable with an 08 plate car and holidays abroad etc.

I don't know the rules and calculation in your case as it's quite complex, but the maintenance you pay is unrelated to what your ex receives in any other benefits or income - it's worth having a word with the CSA to check how the calculation is done. While I can understand the G doesn't want to hand over 15% of her CTC, she will be getting your income coming into the household if you are there, rather than 8%.

Thanks for your comment. I know she will be getting my wage but this is very low. Also l have to agree with her after all M put me and then us through plus not even seeing my daughter to pay her anything to booze etc get my goat. And then to take CTC from my other children to give to her just takes the biscuit. Might as well lie down and let her kick the [censored] out of me.
