Hi

I am just going through a seperaation at the moment but will lead to a devorce, we have a lot of debt and we are in a debt management scheme. I earn 42k a year and we we in a company house ( but I have move out )where I only have to pay for the food and council tax. We do have a morgage and a large secuired loan on the property which we rent and pays for the morgage only. When I have put my details into the C.S.A calculator to work out my payments it comes out much more than I have left after paying all the debt. Would the CSA take into account the amount of debt we are in?

Hi

Yes, the CSA can take into account debts which were accrued during the marriage which were for the benefit of the family - it might be worth having a word directly with the CSA.

May also be worth contacting Step Change about your debt to see if they can assist in managing that - http://www.stepchange.org/
