So i had my first court hearing a few weeks ago the judge ordered a order to be made that i can see the kids in a contact center to get the bond back after9 months of not seeing them my partners solicitor said the contact center charge £75 referral fee the judge ordered i needed to pay the bulk of it due to her needing to pay for the kids on the bus ( 3 and 1 year olds ) so i need to pay £50 and she pays the rest.I said this was more than fine has long has i see them the order was made my sociltior rings up the contact center who then say its £250 and that they told her sociltior this.
I have friends who are in the same contact center who tell me there are no fees we are both on low incomes and both legal aid.
My socilitor has now wrote to the ex saying that this is to much and if she is willing to do it unsupervised and that would be £50 instead.
Do contact centers charge ? The contact center is 150 miles away from me and this contact center was the only one offered.
The next court is in 6 weeks were social reports are being read out and police reports etc... And the judge said i could see them once a week till then.
I would contact the centre directly and see if there is any reduction because you are on benefits. You could also see if there are any other contact centres that could help - try https://www.naccc.org.uk/
