hi im new to here hope you may help me .My childs tax credits stopped my son has lived with me for 3 years and does not go to mothers to stop as mothers on night shifts
now iv claimed childs tax credits which have stopped and saying im not got parental responsibility i need to prove that he only stops at my house (our house) and no where else .tax ppl are saying he stopping at 2 house holds so 2 ppl carnt claim at once .found out his mams not claiming
How frustrating for you, I would get in touch with the Citizens Advice Bureau, they are very good at liaising with the authorities, are you still receiving the child benefit?
If you don't get satisfaction, I'm sure there's a complaints/appeals procedure and failing that you can ask your MP to get involved....although, because of the general election, you probably won't be able to get help until after June 8th.
Best of luck
