When my children were born, they were entitled to the child trust fund from the government. The now ex put the fund in his name, at the time I thought noting of it as we were together then.
My children are nearly 10, I have asked for the past 6 years for a copy of their trust fund statements as my family put money into it. I have received one statement in all that time! I contacted the child trust fund company who told me I could not request the statements myself, I would have to get permission off my ex- whom will not give it to me. I am concerned that he is using it unlawfully to deposit money into them instead of declaring it as income- he has his own business.
Any thoughts?
I have absolutely no idea on this I'm afraid - it might be worth having a word with the citizens advice bureau to see if they can help.
Hi There,
.
As actd says it would be worth having a chat with CAB but from what I can tell, you can't pay cash into the account, so if your ex wanted to top it up using money from the business, it would have to be done as a transfer or a cheque, which would then make this transaction visable to HMRC,
