i just wanted to get some advive on CSA payments and when they should stop.
i have a private arranment with my ex partner. i pay a certain amount every month. At the moment my daughter is starting college 1 day a week in september and is 17 years old. I would like to know if i still have to pay mainteneance if my child is not in full time education? i know that if your child does not complete 12 hours a week at college and are over 16 you do not have to pay CSA. Is this the case or not?
As a rule of thumb, if Child Benefit is still being paid then maintenance should be paid. Here is a link to what qualifies as full time education

It's probably worth trying to find out exactly how many hours her course entails in case there are hours spent on an associated work placement that will add up to the 12 hours.
If you find you are no longer required to pay maintenance, perhaps you could consider helping your daughter out directly while she is studying....
Are you on good terms with your ex partner?
If so, maybe sit down and arrange a convenient date for the payments to stop (ie when your daughter finds a part time job, when she reach 18, etc...).
