I think it can take a few weeks for child benefit to be transferred, but I would keep on chasing the benefits office to get it transferred. I'd also open a case with CMS to get maintenance from her - even if she's on benefits, you'll still get £7 per week - if you don't need it yourself, then put it in a savings account for your child when older.

Hi, see https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/child-benefit.
They now have a webchat function during office hours that saves having to wait for hours to talk to someone to get info, this is actually really useful in some ways..... but not when you get an answer that you don't want to hear..... but hey that's a different story :-), speak to them and ask them to open up an investigation.
I believe that if the child benefits are contested then they will temporarily stop all payments to investigate. It's my understanding that the investigation will seek out who the main resident parent is, to this end I believe that they send you some forms out but you may want to check that out when you contact them. They also check with doctors, dentists, schools etc so you may want to write a letter stating that there is a court order in place conferring parental responsibility upon you and have this placed on your children's files for each service, also make sure that they update the first point of contact so that it is you, take your orders to each and ensure that you are down as the main resident parents for all eventualities, also same with any clubs that your children attend.

Hi There,
.
I would say that as actd has said the change over isn't a quick process and even more so at this time of year, but it doesn't hurt to chase them, and again as said start a CMS claim for the child that lives with you also I dare say you are paying her towards the child/children that live with her.

Thank you for your advice. I will be chasing that up tomorrow.
I am not paying her anything. My payments ceased when my son came to live with me. After all I had only just paid her for a month and then a week later my son was with me. Really she should have transferred the money back to me. Unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world.
I only have one child with her thankfully so I'm not paying anything towards any others.
Doctors have been changed, myself and wife are main contacts. School has been changed again the same but I am aware ex is claiming tax credits so she could argue that as she get some hat she should still be getting CB. Wrong really considering son has lived here 3 months and she has been pocketing that money since then.
