[Solved] Advice to protect equity

Hi everyone

I'm recently divorced and the house is on the market. After all bills etc are paid my equity share will be around £110k.
It sounds like a decent amount but I am 66 yrs old, retired due to ill health and have shared care of my two sons 14 and 15.
At the moment I get CTC for one son, free school meals and council tax relief.
I want to protect my equity to help fund my kids education but also need somewhere to live.
As it stands at the moment I am going to have to rent, as I don't qualify for any social housing because I am on the deeds of this property, and then won't get any help as I will have savings ie the equity.

Any financially savvy dads advice welcome.

Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure how they work these days, but it may be worth speaking to a housing association.
