They say when you go to a solicitor that everything has changed for the father but has it buggery we are still left with nothing, my ex like yours got everything and nobody questioned the fairness of it, solicitors don't care they just take your money and the ex just wants to screw you for everything she can get and if that means using the kids she does it's a joke.

But where can you go to get help..... Nowhere cause your looked on as the bad person regardless of the situation..

It is [censored] I agree.

However I have known different females that have been left in the same situation, the male left took everything and left them in debt, the legal system did nothing to help them either, they did have the children so didn't have to pay the ex as well but it does show that the law won't protect anyone male or female when relationships go wrong.

I agree with GTTS - I came up with a formula for splitting the equity when my ex and I split up which was very hard for her to argue against, and I added a couple of extras on top to give her another £2-3k to prevent any last minute niggles - this was 12 years ago, and my solicitor was very supportive (and worth the money). It can be a lottery, but as GTTS says, it can work against either parent.
