I saw the thread about being a SAHD and thought I'd start one on a similar vein: I work three days a week and am at home with my daughter two days a week. Anyone else do similar? If so, how did you decide to do it and how does it work for you?
My daughter is 2 yrs 9 mnths and I've been looking after her like this since her mum went back to work at the end of her 6 months maternity leave. This was always the plan - it was me that got clucky. But, conveniently, I've also gone as far as I can career-wise. I love being a techy - I dipped my toe in the water of management and hated it whereas my wife loves it. We talked about doing four days each but we both suspected it'd cripple her career as well as mine.
Up until recently, I'd loved every day of it but my daughter's just stopped having her afternoon nap and now there's little time to do anything. I'm struggling to adapt. But I'll have to, won't I? π
