Dan

I'm 42, and have 4 (genuinely lovely) kids. The important thing to realise is that we all mess up, and that the kids end up ok anyway!

Best of luck, enjoy the ride.

..and get some sleep now, it will be in short supply for a while..

Yeah definitely do all the socialising, DIY, hobbies, sport and have loads of sleep now! I became a dad last year at 32 and time is scarce. But I wouldn't change it for the world!!
You'll be great at it. Relax and enjoy fatherhood! It's great fun getting to know them! All the best, jc

Hey Dan
As everyone else has said enjoy it. Do not get too hung up on whether you are doing it "right". I know it is cliched, but time really does fly once you are a dad, so make the most of it.

Congratulations!

What you are feeling is perfectly normal - becoming a parent for the first time is a big deal, your bound to be apprehensive. There are books on the subject, specially written for first time dads, you might find helpful and reassuring.
