[Solved] Dads with baby car seats..

Just wondering if anyone has managed to find a lightweight baby car seat that I can carry around with my baby in it for quickly popping in and out of shops for example without having to have a right arm like Arnold Schwarzeneger.. I have a Maxi-Cosi and it was the lightest one I could find. I don't always want to have to rig up the baby buggy for those quick trips in and out.. Wondering if anyone else has this problem or if it's just me?

Hey,

I had the same issue when my daughter was born, i found that it was awkward getting her in and out of the car just to pop into the supermarket and as i was carrying her in my arms, it made it even more awkward to shop!

I found my solution during the baby/toddler event at Asda, this seat is lightweight easy to get in and out of the car and has a comfortable handle to carry (it also has a hood for when it is sunny):
http://direct.asda.com/Teamtex-Baby-Car ... lt,pd.html

I actually got this for £20 in the event but even at full price of £30 its still not a bad buy!

My daughter used this car seat until she was 8 months old just incase you were wondering how long it would last.

I hope this helps!

Here are some of the interesting research study regarding baby car seats -

According to new study parents thinks twice before strapping their young kids into car seats. Researchers have found that children as young as 12 months find their way out of their harness which makes them more prone to serious injury.

Almost all children under age of 3 are capable of wiggling free of restraints. Boys were more likely than girls to escape.
