The 30 year old teacher that ran off with the 15 year girl is quite concerning of course and my heart goes out to her family.
But rings truth and has happened before. As a parent and a father I wonder what I would have done under these circumstances?
All sorts of questions I am sure is being raised right now, like, has there been a sexual relationship, why was nothing done before now about the situation since concerns were raised 7 months ago. Were the parents not aware then?
Most important issue is our relationship with our children and how we can continually bridge the gap that can create a platform where they can share their views, feelings, hopes and aspiration with us without fear or prejudice.
Easier said, but as a father are we there to bridge the age gap or the relationship?
