Teenage Dads seem to get a tough time in the press. I just wanted to know if there were any Dads out there who had their baby when they were young and had any advice for someone who has just found out they have got their girlfriend pregnant?
Hi Ninkipops
Mate firstly congratualtions on the good news. 😀
I wont lie i didn't have my kids when i was in my teens so can't comment on that, BUT the best bit of advice i can give you is this..
Whatever your age being a dad is simply about making the choice to engage with your child. Making that choice is a head and heart thing and so it doesn't matter if you 18 or 40. If you choice to be there for you child then the like all us dads you will have good times and hard times. But you're not alone DADTALK and your friends and family will help you out with advise etc.
When is the baby due?
Congratulations 🙂
Only a few teenage dads get a rough press - I'm sure there are a lot of teenage dads who quietly go about fatherhood, who never get reported about, but are excellent dads.
I'd say the fact that you are on here asking means that you are showing concern and responsibility - sounds like a good start to me.
Congrats,
That's a big blessing..
Be Happy about it
