Did anyone see the Channel 4 program on tv the other night? Rather frank & explicit...not sure if my teenagers are ready for such an education?
All I remember from school days are sets of 'line drawings' showing how it all 'works' the highlight of the lesson being a teacher showing us how to put a condom onto a banana! 😳 The C4 program discussed different condom sizes (& how to measure up 😉 ) - wonder if they teach this in school now - or is this something we need to be telling our sons? daughters? My kids are heading into this age range, the program also made me think about computer use & access to porn on the interent.
Some shocking statistics on things like condom use , kind of think we are failing somehow to get the message through. Previews for next weeks episode show pics of the effect of STDs so wonder if shock tactics might have some effect? Can see the program again on the C4 website: http://www.channel4.com/video/the-[censored]-education-show/
Lots to think about (now that the world hasn't ended guess we have to carry on living?)
as one who went to a catholic secondary school - my [censored] ed consisted of 45 mins of pure [censored] during which the school priest Father Egghead (long story) put a condom on a broom handle... i still get shivers whenever the need arises! 😳 😯 😆
Our was so lame. The teacher spends about an hour talking about body parts as if we don't know. I think we parents should be the one teaching our kids the abc's of [censored].
