I thought it might be fun to hear what our little ones get up to over the days and weeks.
Cute, funny, annoying, clever - whatever...

Our 15 month old has now started dancing almost every time he hears music. Sometimes it is a noisy toy. Quite often it is a TV advert.
Today he has started dancing with us simply saying Dance to him encouragingly.
Its really cute: he bends his knees and bobs up and down, or he slowly goes round and round 😀

My 14 month old has too many cute habits to list and they appear and disappear with alarming frequency. She stated saying "tickytickyticky" a couple of weeks ago and it took us ages to work out that she was imitating the noise that her chicken walker thingy makes when it flaps its wings. She's just worked out that kissing is a sign of affection and now constantly kisses me, my wife, her teddies, books (she REALLY loves books), and... sigh... the television. She can now make the sign for "book" and comes up to me opening and closing her hands and saying "buh, buh"...

Hi FamousDog,
That's lovely...

Walking home from town today my LO gave a wonderfully loud 'burp' after finishing off his juice.
Immediately, the lady walking infront of us turned around and started to scoul at me when she realised I was pushing a pushchair.

🙂 I last week I brought 'our' toddler slide into the house so it can be used through winter.
Yesterday LO had got up and was still in his zip-up pyjama suit as he merrily sat at the top and began to slide down (with me cheering: ready, steady, go!).
He slid a few inches down and the 'grippy' soles of his pj's touched the slide. His feet stopped and he carried on. It all seemed to happen fairly gently but his chin and nose hit (the heavily carpeted) floor. 😮 shock:
I held him a bit while he had a short cry but I couldn't help finding it rather funny. 😀
I put him down and straight away he was climbing onto the slide again 😆 , so it appears no lasting damage was done to his enthusiasm.

Mine are older now 16,14 and 11.... but can remember the cute moments ! My youngest when at crawling age, used to love crawling around the garden when I was out there gardening....it was so sweet as she crawled up to watch what i was digging...but a good a gardening tip... when they really do get in the way, when at that age, find yourself a large flower pot and put them in it... I still have a great picture of her holding herself up (standing in the pot), peering over the top... fantastic !

I remember when my daugher was very young, she was walking round opening and closing her mouth, making a very soft popping noise. We couldn't figure out what she was doing for a couple of days, then found that they had been making animal noises at the nursery, and she was imitating a fish 🙂

This is part of our daily routine. I finish my cuppa in the morning. When he gets up he pops his night-time dummy into my mug. Occasionally he gets a surprise when his dummy is floating in tepid tea because I hadn't finished. I think he likes the rush for the mug when i haven't finished and we see who gets it first (even when I think it is out of his reach).

Anyway. This morning I placed the mug in his reach. He popped one dummy in, then another and tried putting the CD case in - and looked slightly bewildered when it didn't fit. Cute and amusing at the same time. 😀

Earlier today my little one took two biscuits when offered the box. Then gave me one and said "do it". He wanted me to eat it.
Sooooo cute.

Hi

Oh no - I hope he's better now. Sometimes I think we say things like that because we think once they are sick, they will feel better so we think it's good that they've been sick, especially if they manage to get it into a bowl or toilet and not the carpet or bed!

my 2.5 yr daughter has taken to being the parent to my 5.5 yr son. "dinner time now", "sit down", "finish your plate", "no afters for you" 🙂

funnily enough he seems to listen to her more than to me or my wife.....

The novelty will eventually wear off - then he won't listen to any of you 😆

@JimJamsDad. Our little toddler started giving kisses a couple of weeks ago...
He's had a cold and 2 days ago he walked up to me (with his runny nose and slobbrey chin) and gave me a wet kiss on the lips.
It was so spontaneous I didn't have the heart to interrupt him and clean him up first.

🙂 D

ahhh, just re-read this thread.

Well... my 18 month old has started saying "teh -dee" for his teddy, and he is sooo pleased with himself.
Most amusing is when he's wandering around when he just got up with dummy in his mouth and i hear 'hm hmm', so he is saying teddy but keeping his mouth closed!
🙂
