Hi Folks

As you know the school summer holidays are fast approaching and I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas of how to keep them occupied during that period?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,

We always have this issue especially as both myself and wife work full time, I plan to bring my son to work with me at least once a week and give him some little jobs to do, and then pay him a small amount, this keeps him occupied and also starts to teach him about earning money by working which is always a good thing and something I had to do if I wanted anything that my folks couldn't afford. I am lucky in that I run my own business so I have this option.

I will also be taking 1 day a week off so we can do things, we also look after his friend 1 day a week so it will be the same day, I'm planning cycle rides (just purchased a new bike for myself ready) with picnics.

I think the scalectrix could come out too as that's always good for a few hours and also board games, it doesn't have to cost money to entertain them and I think they appreciate the effort more if you aren't just going to theme parks or zoo's though sure they enjoy that too lol.

Swimming is a good one - especially if you have access to a pool that has lots of activities/wave machine etc.
