[hide]How do you guys get used to you child not being around the house?

I've recently had my boy move 200miles away and see him every 2 weeks from Fri night ti Sun teatime.

Im so used to having him every weekend and used to drop him off at school everyday, so at the moment i feel so lost. Does it get any easier with time? Anyone else had similar experiences?[/hide]

Hi

It is very hard when this happens and I'm sure you feel at a loss. It does get to easier with time but you will probably have times even after time when you feel down a bit when you do things you would normally have done with your child.

Try and fill your time with things to do and make sure you talk to someone about how you feel (even if it's on here) I didn't talk and ended up feeling very down for a long time.

There are lots of dads here who have been through similar so tap into the experience on the site.

[hide]Well she was making life so difficult whilst living close to me, so this way letting them go we could all get on with our lives. But yes I always think what if. I did think of going to court but I think it would have been the wrong thing to do, It would of broke the whole family apart. We used to live in each others pockets and the thought of not seeing him until two weeks time is so heart breaking. Its hard for us dads that actually want to be dads. Some dads would love this much time on their own. You be a dad to be part of their everyday life, not just at weekends, every two weeks.[/hide]
