Hello, my son is looking after his daughter(not on birth certificate) After her mother gave her to social services after they split! He has been taking care of her for 6months now but she refuses to sign any paperwork naming him on the birth certificate. Social services seem to be giving both my son and his ex differing advice, and he is ultimately wanting PR and custody, has anyone any advice on how to achieve these things?

Hi and welcome.

Your son can apply for PR and custody through the courts - take a look at yoji's guides at the top of the legal section. However, is anyone trying to remove his daughter from him at the moment? If not, it may be worth doing nothing for the moment as the longer she is settled with your son, the less likely a court is to remove her later on.

I'll ask our experts at cclc to give an opinion, but this forum will be unable to take postings today due to maintenance, so please be patient for a reply.
