Hi everyone, new here so sorry if I don't adhere to the posting rules.

I was wondering what to expect during labor and what did you all do during your partner's one(s). We are planning on having a home birth. Anybody who has been through one - I would really like to hear from you because I really have no idea. All I know is I'm super excited :-).

Thanks

- Matt

All three of mine were caesarian, and we knew that in advance so a different experience to what you are going to go through. How long before yours is due?

Hello Matt, congratulations! It's a great feeling isn't it. My son is 2 in June, and I can remember the day he was born like it was yesterday.

Please talk things through your midwife, most these days will have information for dad, I know ours did. Please let us know how you get on.

Your midwife will normally bring a homebirth kit to your home towards the end of your pregnancy, containing items which she might use. Ask her what is provided, and if there is anything else that she would like you to have ready. Some midwives suggest preparing a 'birth box' with items you'll need

Prepare for your home birth like you would a hospital birth, only the great thing, is your having your baby in an environment you are familiar with.

Take a look at this article in our pregnancy section - http://www.dad.info/expecting/getting-ready/birth-plan-what-s-that-all-about

Also have a look at our plus baby app, for more information on http://relationships.dad.info/menu

Let us know if this is helpful and if you need any more information.

All the best

Christopher.
