[Solved] Snow ball incident

Hi Folks

As most of you know, the weather was pretty bad yesterday & when my 11 year old daughter was coming home from school she was hit by a snow ball by a lad who she says was about 14-16 years old. She couldn’t work out if he was from her school or the other secondary school (which is located about a 2 minute walk away from her school).

Anyway, her right eye was all swollen and red when she got home (the lift eye was ok), and water was running from her eye. We then took her to the A & E where they gave her ointment to use for the next 3 days.

Do you think I should report this incident to the school? They might turn around and say that it took place outside school hours and outside school premises, plus snow is likely to clear up by Monday anyway.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance for your response.

I would mention it to the school - not really sure what they can do as you don't know if the boy goes to that school or the other one. It would be good for them to be aware though.

It sounds like a prank that had unexpected consequences rather than a malicious act.

How is your daughters eye today ?

Hi

I tend to agree with Gooner,

As she doesn't know who it was then there won't be much they can do, but they may be able to contact the local school and also talk to the older students at her school just to warn them that this happened and to be a little more carful with the snow thrown.

The snow has probably all gone now, but with the UK weather is probably due back again...............maybe in August

I have a 15 days forecast on my phone - snow due 10th and 11th February.

Of course, that must be right since forecasts are so reliable these days.
