I split with my ex about 2 years ago and she was very controling and and physically abusive to me.
but since we splt she has tried to dictate terms as to what i can and cannot do,
she has said i dont need to speak to anyone other than her about my sons education and welbeing.
i refushed to listen and i went to my boys school ( Nursary) and wanted to speak to the head Mistress,
to which she replyed.
You need to speak to the mother. and nothing further. i am now stuck as to what i can do i dont think thats right as i have parental responsibility to know about my sons education and there wont allow me to know anything any advice??????
Hi there
as a parent with PR you do indeed have a right to be involved in your child's education. A fair amount of schools and GP surgeries are fairly ignorant to this fact. You need to lay this out to the school in writing again, if you don't have any luck you will need to go higher to the Local Education Authority or follow the school complaints procedure if the school is an Academy. Here are some links that might help;

Feel free to ask for further support and we will do what we can to help.
Good luck
