Board games teach social interaction, waiting their turn and general social skills as well of course as money management and critical thinking.

My 8 year old, 7 year old, 5 year old and 3 year old love them so this is something we do regularly.

I think that time spent together is never wasted.

To me, board games are very meaningful games. It helps me and my kids spend more time together, bond, and get closer. I find this game can also help children learn how to reason logically and solve problems strategically.

Board games can teach children patience, cooperation, strategy and critical thinking. As well as being fun, they help with reading skills without the children realising. It became a family tradition in our family when our kids were young to play a couple of board games after dinner before bath and story time. You don't have to spend a lot of money on them, and you can even have a go at making your own.

Playing together, a father and child become partners. They have to cooperate, negotiate and work towards a common goal. This helps to create an atmosphere of trust and understanding.

Never give up, even when the odds are against you.
