International travel ban

Dear Moderators,

Can my wife ban my children (aged 3 and 1) from traveling with me?
She is threatening to get an international travel ban.

We are still living in the same house, however, different rooms and it's a very uncomfortable setup.
The kids are currently with her family (in-laws) in Lithuania.

We purchsed the tickets to South Africa in March 2012, departing UK 24 Dec and return 14 Jan 2013, since then things have gone from bad to worse, we have not filled for any legal documentation as yet, this will be the next step.

In brief:
My wife wants to prevent my kids traveling to SA to visit their gandparents, her fear is that i will not bring them back. I have offered to write a legal letter stating i will bring the kids back, this is not an option was her reply.
Anything i can do to prevent the ban?

Please help!?!

Thank you
Al
