Hiya 🙂
I'm not getting the e-mail reminders when people post to my threads..I've done the usual checks, SPAM folders, etc..but still not seeing anything!
Cheers
Mark
Mark -
You have to subscribe to each thread individually.
It can be done either by checking the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box in the Options tab when posting a reply OR when you are logged in each thread has a "subscribe topic" in the yellow box below the thread (and the Who is Online bit at the bottom) - you can als unsubscribe there too.
Hope that makes sense - I wonder if we should ask the Moderators to turn this on automatically as other forums do?
Ron
Hi Ron...
I have subscribed...but the other puzzling thing is there have been recent replies to one of my threads that I did get replies to, and I've not had the e-mails!..as I say, I've done all the usual checks!
Its not a biggie, in all honesty! 🙂
But yes...it would be worthwhile if the mods could make it a default option!
Mark
Hi Guys I came into this section to ask the same question, so I'll post my comments here for Mods to see.
I have subscribed to full boards and individual topics yet neither of them are notifying me of new posts (on boards) or replies to a thread (on topics) via email.
are there any known problems with the subscription feature? I'm active on a number of forums and find that by having notifications direct to my inbox (or RSS reader - is that an option on here that I have missed?) it really keeps me engaged and going back to those forums...I do come to dadtalk anyway, i just think it would be that little bit better if we could get notications and respond in real time.
Cheers
Danny 🙂
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the comments - I will look into this issue and report back to you.
Thanks
Gooner :ugeek:
Not important really, but I get the Daily Tip emailed to me - this morning I get Wednesday, Thursday & Friday's emailed to me.
so have you received Wednesday twice ?
Not sure what I've got now - deleted them on my phone so they don't appear on my PC, so can't say which Thursday & Friday posts that they were. Been getting only one each day since. It is possible that it was a glitch with my service provider - has occasionally happened before. Seems fine now and if I'm the only one, then chances are it's not dadtalk that caused it.
Ok - let me know if it happens again.
Hi,
Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but did anyone discover a way to automatically subscribe to discussions that I comment on?
I don't really want to subscribe to whole boards, and I keep forgetting to manually subscribe to threads that I comment on. It's usually a pretty standard feature on forums.
I think that there is still work being done on the forum as I've just started receiving daily tips again.
