[Solved] Tomy Competition
The Micro Pets-i are available in nine smart ‘cats’, ‘dogs’ and ‘bears’, and each tiny pet moves, communicates and sings just by responding to your child's hand movements. The Micro Pets-i, which each fit into the palm of your hand, have ‘Artificial Intelligence’ sensors so your child can control their pet just by tapping its special ball in front of it.
Not only do Micro Pets-i move and think like they’re alive, but they can also help to develop ‘nurturing’ instincts as the child learns how to train them. And as parents who end up cleaning after their children's pets would appreciate, this provides the perfect training for children to look after their own animals! Your child will love to collect these unique little pets so they can cherish each one of them.
This toys haven't even hit the shops yet but are available to purchase at http://www.tomy.co.uk
We have three Micro Pets-i to give away - to get a chance to win one of these toys simply post on this thread telling us about your favourite childhood toy.
Closing date for your entries is Sunday 7th February 2010 at midday - Three winners will be chosen from the posts below
Competition Terms and Conditions can be read here.
what a great competition idea 😀
My best toy as a young kid was my action man helicopter... it was awesome. 😉
My fav toy was my Evil Knievel stunt cycle
That's not me in the photo 😉
I loved it.
My favourite was Hot Wheels Stunt Cars. I used to balance the track on chairs and books etc to get it to go 'better' 😀
Cars used to get flung off the track, I would sellotape the track down in that place and try again.... hours of fun.
some of these old toys can be searched for on auction sites and they are still available if you are happy to hand over a few hours pay!!! and exchange it for many hours of play (especially if you have a LO to help you play).
eg: search for 'action man helicopter' and they are available (are you tempted Harvey's Dad??)
😆 Oh Yeah Mr O very much so.. I must have bashed the living daylights out of my collection of Action Man figures and all the kit. I remember the christmas i got the helicopter, it was 1977and i was 8, i flippin thought it was the bees knees esp as it made the right noises and the blades went round.... cool as
Unfortunatly my 5 and 4 year old boys are more in to Ben 10, Gogo Crazy Bones and Hotwheels ... so you would feel right at home 😀
Come over and play any time Mr O 😉
should I bring my headless action man with me, together with all his plastic rifles, guns, one oar and a tent?
I just remembered Silly Putty
I have some upstairs!!
Question: Which is the best thunderbird - my fav is 2 (and I have one of those upstairs too).
I was so happy when my Dad bought this 'AT AT' for me one Christmas I loved star was and this was my favorite toy in the world. When we moved in the 80's we had to put some of our stuff in storage when we had settled, my Father went to get the rest of our stuff my AT AT had been stolen it was a sad time in my childhood.
it's got to be scalectrix! it was my brother's actually but he let me play with it. it was just great just spending ages setting up the track and then beating him at it and my car winning!! even the electric/plastic smell from the track and trying not to get sweaty palms! for me as a kid it was like Formula 1!
on friday nights we used to have whole family and friends competitions! my brother's a much better driver than me though in adulthood! the last time i drove him anywhere i reversed into a skip.
I liked star wars too, but there's no way our family had any money for any of those big toys. they were really cool. some of my richer mates had them. i saved up for a darth vader figure but darth vader's no fun fighting himself! 😆
This brings back some glorious memories of He-man's Castle Greyskull:
It wasn't technically my toy, but I spent enough time playing with it at a friend's house that it might as well have been. Our imagination used to run wild, even to the point where He-man would get lonely so he would often be accompanied by a Darth Vader figurine.
The two toys which I loved were my space 1999 eagle
and my star trek enterprise (which fired yellow disks and had a detachable shuttle)
Spent many hours playing with these........
My favorite toy was my Meccano collection which I added to over many years and spent a lot of time building models of cars and aeroplanes. I never wanted to take them apart again.
At times we didn't need toys - climbing trees and jumping rivers were good enough for us! However favourites included Space hopper, swingball, Chopper bike and skateboard (first time around!) But the Action Man with moving eagle eyes was the tops - his helicopter and snow camoflage were pretty cool too!
Wow ! This got my mind racin back to the good old days ! i'v gotta be honest, my favorite toy as a kid had to be my box of lego blocks !! i used to spend hours and hours building castles and houses and other such stuff ... i used to love them. Infact my mom and dad still have all of it so that when ever they have people over the kids can play with it !
I cant wait for my child to be born so i can relive my youth and build my favorite things !!
Also, when i was 16 my dad gave me an action man that i had been messing around with in a charity shop ! my friends thought it was brilliant, so did i 🙂 the good old days ....
It has got to be Scaletrix, my parents still have it in their loft. Will get it out for my LOs in about 5yrs time. Still remember finding it under their bed a couple of days prior to christmas and my brother and me being overcome with anticipation.
Also had these two red telephones with the dials - no buttons back then 🙂
They took the super large batteries - think it was a double C or double D battery. Anyone remember anything like that.
that's funny, scalectrix was me and my brother's fave too!
one of my dad's friends worked for BT so he gave me an old phone once, you know one with the dial and i used to love taking it to bits and putting it back together.
maybe we had similar childhoods man? 😆
My favourite toy was my Grifter bike. My dad taught me to ride it and I absolutely loved it. It was like a tank on two wheels! 🙂
My favourite had to be my space hopper. Got lots of bruises from playing on it but boy could i bounce!!!!!
😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
My favourite toy when I was younger was a teddy bear called Tebby.
I bought him second hand from a fair and I still have him now. He sits on my bed with my
other teddy bears and my sister and I play with him very often.
I would love a micropet-i because I use to have an older version which was broken by
my sister. I really liked it and I was very upset when it happened.
The micropet-i looks like a great toy and I would love to play with it with my sister
(hopefully she won't break it this time).
Thank you for reading my entry

One of the best things I remember wasn't a toy of mine - it belonged to my brothers ( but I helped make it). It was Traceys' Island ( from thunderbirds ) but homemade because you could not buy them for love nor money.
Do you remember it, have a look at this Tracey Island
Mags
Cheers guys.... great... Wonder if this my son and daughter will remember this as one of their memorable toys when they grow up?
Was looking at my old commodore64 the other day, my first computer and it actually seems a literal eternity ago rather than 20 odd years ago, or maybe that is the description of an eternity..... 😮
Gosh 20 something years, that does make me feel old......
Zaden !!
I was only thinking about my old computer the other day and wondering if it was still gathering dust in the loft !! I had a Spectrum (i think it was that anyway) and we used to have to wait for the games to load via a tape deck !
My little brother would throw a right sissy fit of he thought he would have to wait more than 35 seconds for a game to load ! what would he do with out his x-box and ps3 !!
oh well, im just off to pick up my new toy from the post-office because they couldnt deliver it today !! woop woop, thanks again dadtalk 🙂
xxx
Still have a spectrum somewhere - I let my son try it out 4 or 5 years ago, but he lost interest very quickly.
Does any one remember Rob Hubbard (he of commodore64 music fame). Thought his music was so cool at the time. Check out this site for some of the ol' music, will send you back in time. 🙂 //www.vgmusic.com/music/computer/commodore/commodore/index-classic.html"> http://www.vgmusic.com/music/computer/c ... assic.html
Check out the Parallax or Sanxion tunes, must bring back memories if you were there -
