Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

[Solved] Needing some male balance to parental research

I'm doing well finding respondents for my Masters Dissertation in online Child Protection...trouble is, all the respondents I find seems to be women! I'm getting responses from friends-of-friends, which is great, but they are mostly mums. If I could get some people here to reply, it would add some balance I think.

I'm researching whether current methods for protecting children online are working and how we might improve them.

I'm looking for UK-based parents/carers of children aged 9-15 to complete a brief survey for me. Please forward this to anyone who fits this category: http://edu.surveygizmo.com/s3/1139243/Dissertation

Thanks so much for any help you can give. I'm happy to share the results once the research is complete (anonymously).
